Your coffee morning could be held at school, a club, your workplace or anywhere that a group of friends can meet up!
Woking and Sam Beare Hospices has launched its Big Coffee Morning campaign, encouraging local individuals and groups to hold their own fundraising coffee mornings throughout February in aid of the charity. Supporters and fundraisers joined staff and patients in Woking Hospice’s day care centre to enjoy the charity’s inaugural Big Coffee Morning.
Interim CEO and Director of Nursing for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices Jayne Cooper said; ‘As a charity we have lots of fantastic fundraising events to get involved with but we appreciate that for some people an energetic challenge isn’t the best way for them to join in. Through setting up a gathering with friends, family or colleagues we hope that everyone can easily join in to support us while enjoying a chat, some cake and a hot drink – especially in this cold weather!’
Chertsey-based volunteer Bryan Freeman said at the event; ‘My wife Madge and I have been volunteering with the hospices for 20 years because we, like so many other families, have experienced the wonderful care they offer. Holding a coffee morning is a fun and easy way to support the charity; I think everyone should give it a go and get involved!’
Your coffee morning could be held at school, a club, your workplace or anywhere that a group of friends can meet up. Donations from individually-organised events will go towards charity’s work providing end-of-life care to more than 1,400 people each year, in both the hospice setting and in the community, and providing on-going support to relatives.
