Café Rouge Weybridge Has Now Re-Opened Following The Recent Roof Fire
Café Rouge Weybridge Expects To Open Very Shortly Following Roof Fire
Crew from six fire engines from Chertsey, Painshill, Sunbury, Esher, Staines and Egham fought the blaze which is believed to have been in the ducting on the roof of the three storey building.
An Aerial Ladder Platform was also sent from Leatherhead and a Command Unit from Painshill.
Surrey Fire and Rescue said the cause was accidental – and was due to a defective motor in the extractor fan unit.
Around 10 square metres of ducting has been damaged by flames – with 30% of the second floor suffering water damage.
An Official Spokesperson for Café Rouge provided the following statement to the All About Weybridge website.
“We are aware of a fire overnight at our restaurant in Queen’s Road, Weybridge, and are working closely with the relevant authorities. Thankfully everyone is safe and well, but the site remains closed today while we investigate the cause and assess damage. As the fire did not impact the main restaurant we expect to reopen very shortly.”
