Cycle Touring in Switzerland
We are currently planning a trip to Switzerland to ride from the source of the River Rhine to Lake Constance in Germany.
If you are interested in joining us then please let me know.
The trip will be towards the end of June (provisionally 21st June to 28th June). We will start in Andermatt at the source of the Rhine River and will follow it (mostly downhill) until it reaches Lake Constance. This will be about 5 days of cycling with one or two rest days or optional side excursions to Liechtenstein, St Gall and/or Friedrichshafen. Beyond Lake Constance there is another option to continue for 3 or 4 more days to Basel.
Typical distances will be between 30km and 60km per day.
Travel logistics have not been finalised yet, but a flight into Basel or Zurich seems the most likely plan at the moment.
If you are interested or have any questions please let me know.
If you are not yet a member, it’s free to join – here’s the website: Elmbridge Cycle Group

About Elmbridge Cycle Club
It was formed under the name Elmbridge Cycle Group in 2008 as the result of a mass protest about the safety of the chicanes on Oatlands Drive in Weybridge. The group was successful in getting the dangerous chicanes removed.
Cycle Rides
Elmbridge Cycle Group runs informal rides on a regular basis. These rides are open to everyone whatever your age or ability.
The rides all start from the Hand and Spear at Weybridge Station. The rides are normally on the second Sunday of the month and operate all year round and generally take 3-4 hours including a leisurely stop for lunch at a pub.
Routes are normally posted on the group’s website a few days before each ride. If you would like email notification as well please you can register to receive them.
Ages and Abilities
Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome and the group will go at a pace that is suitable for everyone in the group. Irresponsible people should be accompanied by a responsible person.
If you can’t make one of our rides, or you want more rides then have a look at the information about local rides on the website.
