FSB Innovation Award For Bruce’s Doggy Day Care
Cobham & Ripley Surrey-based dog crèche company has scooped a top business award.
Bruce’s Doggy Day Care was crowned winner of the Business & Product Innovation category at the South East area finals of the 2018 FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) Celebrating Small Business Awards. The ceremony took place on 6 March at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, Surrey. The business will now go forward to the national finals in London in May.
Bruce’s Doggy Day Care was recognised for building its own pioneering doggy day care app and industry-leading technology suite. It includes cloud-based CRM (customer relationship management) software, a doggy bus driver iPad app and a customer iPhone App. Key features allow staff and customers to edit services, receive real-time notifications, upload and download real-time photos of dogs, engage in feedback and communication, view and pay invoices, perform photo editing, and much more.
Launched last year, the company’s innovative products have captured the attention of the pet and technology industries. Since then, managing director Bruce Casalis has regularly spoken about them in the media and at national events such as the Pet Industry Federation Forum, and the Daily Telegraph Digital Enterprise Network Conference.
Bruce Casalis, managing director, Bruce’s Doggy Day Care, said:
“This is fantastic news. I’m delighted we’ve won this award. Our business has grown at a rapid pace in recent years and this technology has allowed it to expand with ease. I believe our innovative technology is now one of the largest-scale pet booking platforms globally.”
Bruce founded the business in 2009 with just a couple of huts and a few acres. He now employs 48 people and runs two sophisticated purpose-built sites totalling 30 acres which care for over 600 dogs. The canine customers are collected in air-conditioned doggy buses from their homes in catchment areas around London and Surrey. They spend the day at the Bruce’s Doggy Day Care facilities before being driven home again tired and happy.
