Princess Alice Hospice Santa Fun Run Goes Global for Christmas
Wherever you are in the world, you can join in the 2020 Santa Fun Run!
Wherever you are in the world, you can enjoy some festive family fun and raise much-needed funds for Princess Alice Hospice at the same time!
This year, the Hospice’s Santa Fun Run is being, well, run as an international virtual event, which means, you can take part any time, any place, anywhere.
You don’t have to run it either; you can jog, walk, ski, swim, or even dance your way around 5k. It’s entirely up to you.
Rachel (pictured in the photos) heard about the Princess Alice Hospice Santa Fun Run through her cousin Sonia, who works at the Hospice. Rachel lives in South Africa and is currently experiencing temperatures of 28 degrees, but she hasn’t let that stop her from getting involved. Donning a Santa hat and sunglasses, she took on a 5k route through Johannesburg to raise vital funds for the Hospice.
Community Partnerships and Events Lead, Claire Woodward said: “We love the fact that our event lets people support this year’s Santa Fun Run from anywhere in the world. We’ve had participants from Ireland and Spain doing their bit for us too, and it’s just amazing.
Raising funds for us this year is even more important as practically all our events have been cancelled during the pandemic.
Thank you to Rachel for taking on the heat in Johannesburg, you did an amazing job!”
The Community Partnerships and Events team will award prizes for the biggest team, the largest fundraising total and of course, the widest geographical spread. Anyone, in any part of the world, can take part.

More Information About Princess Alice Hospice
Princess Alice Hospice: For Compassion. For Excellence. For People. For Living.
Princess Alice Hospice has, for more than 30 years, provided free, high-quality, specialist end of life care to tens of thousands of people across a large part of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex.
Today, at any one time, Hospice nurses, doctors and other specialist staff are looking after more than 800 people in need.
The Hospice’s mission is to reach out to even more people by delivering outstanding care to those that need it. To enable us to do this, we will rely on the commitment and support of our communities who help us to raise vital funds.
£10.1 million is needed each year to provide these vital and much-needed services. With limited NHS funding, 76% must be generated by fundraising, retail operations, donations and legacies.
