Flipside Dance

Flipside Dance is a Surrey based dance school, founded in 2007 by Principal Deborah Rich.

Through unfaltering determination and love of dance, Miss Debs has worked to expand the school from its meagre beginning of one small Hip-Hop class to its current thriving establishment.

Flipside now runs classes six days a week, has approx. 170 students aged 2-19, practices ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip- hop/street, tap, musical theatre dance styles and is based in larger, better-equipped premises with semi-sprung flooring and mirrors.

Sensitive to every child’s individual needs, Miss Debs ensures that, whilst the best performance is being encouraged from each student, they are also getting the opportunity of healthy exercise, let off some steam, and have a tremendously fun time in every class.

Elite Performance Troupes

Flipside Dance offers those students who want to progress and do more with their dance the opportunity to be part of FSD Performance Troupes. These students must take more than two disciplines of dance a week to keep their technique strong.

Students must audition or are invited to join the performance troupes and show their dedication to Flipside prior to being accepted into the groups.

We have different genre of performance troupes that each work on different disciplines, as this gives the students the opportunity to be in the style that suits them the best. We compete in a variety of competitions all year round and take part in special events.

Childrens Juniors Teens Kids Dance Classes

As well as being exemplary in dance technique, Flipside strives for innovative choreography and consequently the school has been rewarded for its creatively constructed routines at recent competitions performed by several Flipside groups.

Both our ballet and tap classes are based on the ISTD and I.D syllabuses. It is our intention to nurture confidence and enthusiasm in our pupils in order that they fulfill their maximum potential at all times.

Flipside offers all students the chance to perform in their annual performances which are highly valued as part of the students training and gives the students the chance to wear amazing costumes while showing off their skills.

Flipside caters for all students with all abilities, from those who want to dance for fun and fitness to those who want to go on and dance professionally. In addition, there are elite performance groups for those students who wish to enter competitions and perform at events.

Flipside Dance Summer School

The Flipside Dance Summer School is offered to individuals from the age of 5 to 18 years who enjoy dance, want to learn new skills and be taught by wonderful teachers. From the information provided on the registration form, students will be divided into classes according to their age and level of dance experience.

The week will be packed full of different styles of dance including some of the following: Street/hip hop, MT, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Commercial to fun relaxed drama games for the juniors.

At the end of the week we invite parents, family and friends to watch our very special showcase performance where all course participants will demonstrate the hard work they have put in throughout the week. The student’s perform the showcase on a fantastic stage at the Performing arts center in the International School, Cobham.

Deborah Rich leads the summer school and has a committed team of professional teachers all of whom are all qualified and CRB checked. Each teacher has performed in professional shows and has expert advice and experience.
