St James’ Church Choir
The St James’ Church Choir Weybridge enjoys an enviable reputation and leads the singing at the main 10.00 am Eucharist every Sunday morning. At present there are 50 members, and we try to keep the number of Choir members high to take the pressure off members being expected to attend every service, and it is for this reason we always seek to recruit new members.
Our comprehensive library contains music of all periods and each week an anthem is sung at the Sunday Eucharist service.
St James Church, designed by John Loughborough Pearson, was consecrated in 1848. There has always been a strong musical tradition which over the last 30 years has grown and developed. Being in the centre of the town, the Church is widely used for concerts and other community events.

This is the name of the training scheme run by the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) which we participate in. Junior and Adult choristers are prepared for a series of medal tests.
The scheme allows for the first medals to be tested internally and the bronze, silver and gold medals are tested externally by RSCM examiners. Training for Junior Choristers is on-going during Choir practice.
