Trek, Fundraise and Volunteer with Woking & Sam Beare Hospices Nepal Trek & Hospice Project

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices are offering intrepid supporters the chance to go on an adventure like no other, whilst also raising money to support their crucial work, with their Nepal Trek & Hospice Project.

Dates: Departing on Saturday 7th October, 2017 and returning on Wednesday 18th October 2017.

Those interested are being advised to register now to ensure that fundraising and fitness targets are met in good time for departure.

This trek covering the Annapurna region of the world famous Himalayas, will have you taking in spectacular views of snowy peaks, whilst immersing yourself in true Nepalese culture. You will trek for five days and then spend two days helping a non-profit hospice care organisation in Kathmandu, which offers services and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Undergoing tasks such as basic refurbishment, painting and decorating rooms, or improving the kitchen and bathroom facilities will enable you to help the hospice care movement across the world.

Nepal Trek opportunity to Fundraise for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices

Sarah Goldsmith is currently preparing to trek the Great Wall of China in order to raise funds for the hospices, she explains why she decided to undertake the challenge:

“I am passionate about raising awareness about the amazing work that the hospices do and I want to raise as much money as possible for them. It costs a lot to keep them running and although my Dad was only in for a couple of days, the nurses gave him full attention and the best care possible. I am a breast cancer survivor too, and with everything that’s happened I have realised that you just never know when you or your family might need the hospices.  I’m also doing this for my dad in memory of him because he was my life and I know when I’m doing my trek he will be so proud of me.”

She continues to explain that fundraising efforts are “a lot easier than I had initially thought.  It was daunting at first but when I reached the first £100 I was motivated to keep going, and then I reached my first £1000! My target was £2850.00 and I’m already nearly on £4000. I’ve had a lot of support from my family, who have helped me raise money and also given me lots of moral support.” Read more of Sarah’s tips on How I raised Funds for a Challenge Event on the Nepal webpage (URL below).

Registration is £399.00 for this 12 day challenge and community project.
