Weybridge Christmas Trees & Lights Fundraising Campaign

Weybridge Christmas Lights Switch On in Town Centre

Please Help To Make Weybridge Festive This Year

A Crowdfunding project has been created to support Weybridge Business Group raise funds for Christmas Trees and improved lights in our Town this year.

All Donations, no matter how small or large from local businesses and residents are appreciated. You can visit the Crowdfunding page using the button below

This year we are asking all the major companies in Weybridge to help and we already have pledges from All About Weybridge, Waitrose, Morrisons, Knight Frank and JTI UK which is fantastic however we do need to ‘club together’ again to make to make your Christmas shopping experience a pleasure. The plan is more or less the same as last year with a large tree at the bottom of Baker Street (outside LeQuest) and one on Monument Green. Each tree costs a minimum of £650 + vat which we cannot recover and we would like to be able to add more lights to these trees plus the trees in the High Street and perhaps offer a reduced cost to each retailer for their shop Christmas trees.

We hope you will be able to help us raise the funds we need to help with this.

Last Year’s Crowdfunding Project

Angel-Clare Grant, Weybridge Resident was organiser of the first Crowdfunding Project in 2017. Over £1,200 was raised and we would like to thank her for this initiative and her work for the community. Also thanks to donors for their generosity. Please help again this year, by visiting the page using the button above!

Over £1,200 has been donated for the Weybridge Lights Campaign through Crowdfunding and we are constantly being asked “where can I donate now that the Crowdfunding Campaign is closed”.

Well the answer is – you can donate directly to the Weybridge Business Group bank account.

Details are: Sort Code: 40-51-62 Account No: 24509596 and quote your name followed by the word LIGHTS.
Thank you for your support.

Correction To Previous Statement Regarding Support From Elmbridge Borough Council

“The original crowdfunding page was put up by a supportive Weybridge resident who was unaware that the Council provided funding for the Weybridge Xmas lights and she has since kindly amended the paragraph saying ‘Sadly our Council will not fund Christmas lights.’ to correct this local misinformation on her crowdfunding page.

We are working closely with the Weybridge Town Business group on their plans for Christmas and in addition to the lights the Council will be putting up, we are helping to link Sharon and her team to local businesses to help the sponsorship drive for extra lights, offering additional support through our business grant to work toward the fundraising target and helping progress the sign offs and permissions for the switch on event.. ”

“As a Weybridge mum of three (with one of my children actually being born on Christmas Day) Christmas is very important to me and I see it as not just a time for family to get together but also for the local community to get together. What better way to kick start the Christmas spirit than to get the community and local businesses together to raise funds for our town’s Christmas lights and getting excited for the day they see their efforts in place with a magnificent tree that they helped to fund.

I’m also arranging personalised baubles to place on the tree for everyone that donates £10 or more which can be used to promote a business (with a logo) or remember a loved one with a photo/name etc. ”
