Weybridge Society – Talk about the History of Health Services in Weybridge
Talk about the History of Health Services in Weybridge
The next Society talk is about ‘The History and Individuals behind Healthcare in Weybridge from Victorian Times & what the Future may Hold’.
The speaker is Philippa Holcroft from the Friends of Weybridge Hospital and a Weybridge Society member.
This will be a fascinating talk starting from before the first hospital was built on Balfour Road, followed by the later hospital buildings and the modern facilities we had until recently. The role of the major personalities behind all the improvements and developments will give extra insight into how healthcare evolved over the years.
The talk comes at an important time for the town as we await the outcome of the NHS deliberations on what we can expect to have as replacement services after the devastating fire in July 2017.
